Life changes/New job
Day one, handled.
A new job comes with forms that have real deadlines and benefits windows that close quietly. We keep them in front of you so the new job starts with the good parts.
The checklist, in order
A preview of what we send. Members get each step as a reminder, timed to their dates.
- Before day oneFind your ID documents for the I-9. Your employer has to verify them within 3 business days of your start.
- Day oneFill out your W-4 so the right amount of tax comes out of your first check.
- First weekSet up direct deposit and check when your first payday lands.
- First 30 daysPick your health plan. Enrollment windows for new hires are often 30 days, and missing it can mean waiting a year.
- First 60 daysDecide what to do with an old 401(k): leave it, roll it over, or move it to an IRA.
- First 90 daysSet up a check-in with your manager about how it's going and what success looks like.
General information, not legal or financial advice. Rules vary by state, so check with the agency involved.
